John David Berens, age 20, of Maple Park, formerly of Lena, IL, died unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 21, 2017. He was born on March 8, 1997, in DeKalb, IL, the son of David and Joanna (Gregorich) Berens. John grew up in Lena, IL and attended local schools. He graduated from Lena-Winslow High School with the class of 2015 as a member of the National Honor Society and participated in the Academic Bowl. He alone was chosen from Lena-Winslow to go to the State Championship during his sophomore year in 2013. He did all this while maintaining a 4.0 grade point average for all four years. John continued his education and was currently enrolled at Waubonsee Community College where he was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa, a national honor society for junior colleges. Robert “Rob” D. Repp, age 52 of Aurora, formerly of Elburn passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, March 17, 2017 at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva. Rob was born on Friday, December 11, 1964 at St. Charles Hospital in Aurora, IL, the son of of Robert and Lorena (Davison) Repp Rob grew up in Elburn attending local schools. As a youngster, Rob enjoyed playing baseball with his sisters and neighbor kids. He spent many days riding his mini-bike around the yard with his sister, but when they weren’t riding they were climbing their neighbors pear trees eating the sweet fruit. Norman “Pete” Maier, age 74, of Shabbona, IL, passed away at Delnor Hospital, Geneva, on Friday evening, March 10, 2017. Norm was born on February 24, 1943, in Aurora, IL, to proud parents Earl and Mable (Bornemann) Maier. He grew up in Sugar Grove and attended local schools, including a one room schoolhouse on Bliss Rd. Norm graduated from Kaneland High School with the class of 1962. Norm made a name for himself on the hardwood as guard. Following his graduation, Norm continued to work on the family farm, faithfully tending the livestock alongside his eleven siblings. Donald C. Stokr, age 70, of St. Charles, IL, formerly of Warrenville, IL, passed away peacefully in his sleep, at his home, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family, Tuesday, February 28, 2017, following a brave battle with cancer. Donald amazed his doctors as being the one of the longest survivors of his particular type of prostate cancer. His body may have broken under the struggle to survive, but his spirit never did and lives on in Heaven.
