Peter “Pete” Charles McGuire, age 53, passed away unexpectedly following a whirlwind life of adventure, the likes you only get to read about. His highs and lows were staggering to behold, let alone live through, but Pete weathered them all with a unique outlook on life, one which will forever be remembered and loved. He was born on May 29, 1964 but always lamented he couldn’t have been born early to take full advantage of the “hippie” lifestyle. His parents, Charles and Victorine “Vicky” (Jirik) McGuire, gave him an idyllic childhood replete with a picket white fence, rabbits, squirrels, trees, gardens and a creek just down the road. Although he graduated from high school and attended college, Pete had a heart full of wanderlust that called him to the peaks of mountains and to the depth of jungles. He spent his life getting a master’s degree in the “school of hard knocks”. He continued searching and learning with every step he took on his journey, a journey that...

Kasia Marie Kreitz peacefully completed her journey home to Christ on the morning August 15th, 2017 at the age of 51. Born as a special child of Christ on October 8th, 1965, Kasia (lovingly known as “Big Ha” to her family) left an indelible mark of affection on anyone blessed enough to be in her life. She owned a massive capacity of unconditional love that she shared through her wide smiles, genuine hugs and the uncanny ability to make each person she knew feel special (“You so pretty!”). She had a way of lighting up when she first saw you, immediately erasing the ills of the day and leaving no doubt that you deserved the love she was offering. Kasia spent the entirety of her almost 52 years with her cherished mother, Judy and her adored father, Jim. From the moment she was born, their lives had turned special and a journey of tears, laughter and stubborn perseverance had begun. Kasia defied limitations, whether natural or imposed, rejecting a doctor’s declaration that she wo...

Adam Richard Meyer, age 37, of Maple Park, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, July 5, 2017, following a brief but fierce illness that tragically took his life. His spirit lives on for all others to cherish until they meet again. He was born September 11, 1979, in Elmhurst, IL, the son of proud parents, Thomas and Deborah (Whitehead) Meyer. Adam grew up in Lombard and attended local schools. He graduated from Willowbrook High School in 1998, (despite Adam’s best efforts to spend as little time there as possible). Labor laws didn’t apply to Adam as he began working with his father at a young age. They worked hard, side by side, and were fiercely proud of Meyer Paving, so much so, Adam eventually tattooed it on his arm. Adam had a well-honed sense of fun and adventure and lived life by his own set of rules. A goofball at heart, Adam was quick with a grin and a laugh. His loyalty to family and friends ran deep and strong; you could always count on Adam, rain or shine. He was a ...
