Pearle V. Murphy, age 86 of Aurora formally of Sycamore left this world peacefully on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Symphony of Orchard Valley Nursing Home in Aurora.

Pearle was born into our world on Sunday, January 3, 1931 in Muskegon, MI to Wesley and Pearle (McCutchin) McMillan.

Growing up with her parent’s names starting with the letter “M” Pearle and her three sisters enjoyed calling themselves the “M&M” sisters. Pearle grew up on Elm Street in Sycamore and had the honor of graduating from Sycamore High School.

Pearle met her first husband James Jacobus in 1949. The young couple had 3 children together but later slipped farther apart from each other and later divorced. While working at Anaconda Wire and Cable Company Pearle’s eye caught a man by the name of James E. Murphy, Jr. The two fell for one another and were married on April 3, 1965 in Sycamore.

Feeling called to the job force Pearle started working at Anaconda Wire and Cable Company in Sycamore for a number of years. She then worked for Illinois Belle Telephone Company in DeKalb as an operator. Later with more experience under her belt Pearle worked for Mooseheart Answering Service again as a phone operator. Feeling the need for a change Pearle started working for McCawley Manor where she was able to obtain her Certified Nurses Assistance certification (C.N.A.). Lastly she was employed by what is now called Symphony of Orchard Valley Nursing Home in Aurora as a C.N.A. until she retired. Pearle wore many hats but most of all she was a mother to her children.
Pearle had a passion for creating, whether that was baking cakes, sewing outfits for the new babies in the family or crocheting, she had her hand in it. She also was an avid reader, reading mysteries, romance, or books on animals if there wasn’t crocheting needles in her hands you could find a book, especially one written by her favorite author; Debbie Macomber.

She leaves behind two daughters; Melissa (Terry) Stover and Margaret (Ed) Hill, two sons; Arnold Jacobus and James Murphy, III, many grandchildren and one great grandchild; Nahla.

Pearle now joins her parents, beloved husband and three sisters; Juanita, Wava, Gayla.
