Stephanie Hobson Pennington, age 34, of Montgomery, IL passed away suddenly in her home on Friday, March 17, 2017.
Stephanie was born on November 19, 1982 at the Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. Throughout her life, it was evident that she truly loved the Lord. At the young age of 10, she was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the Holy Ghost. Every year she looked forward to attending youth events along with retreats and other church events. God’s love shined through her as she shared her faith with others.
Another one of her passions was caring for little ones. Taking care of children brought her the greatest joy. Even at an early age, she loved helping out whenever there was a new baby in the family. As she grew older, she became the most sought out babysitter in the area. She was eventually voted number one babysitter in the Wheaton Pentecostal Church. She adored all children and was most content while holding a baby or nurturing a child. Stephanie’s passion for taking care of children inspired her to attend Waubonsee Community College in order to obtain her degree in early childhood education. She then became a lead teacher at both Rogy’s and KinderCare Learning Centers. Many knew mothers benefitted from her knowledge and experience because she was always willing to help and provide much needed advice.
When Stephanie wasn’t holding babies, she enjoyed outings with her family and friends. Her favorite things were shopping, watching movies or her favorite TV shows, playing games and going out to eat. Whether it was just going to the store or attending an event, she especially looked forward to spending time with her mom. She also had many fond memories visiting the cabin up in Wisconsin with her dad and family. She had fun snowmobiling, fishing, camping and boating. When she wasn’t out and about, she found enjoyment in her hobbies that included reading, making crafts, baking and taking care of animals.
One of her happiest moments was when she married the love of her life, Jason Pennington. On November 16, 2013, she had the wedding of her dreams. They met each other while attending the First Apostolic Church of Aurora. After many years of getting to know each other, they began dating. It didn’t take long for both to realize that they were meant for each other. Both Jason and Stephanie shared many interests including the love and compassion for animals. Their five “fur babies” were very special to her and provided comfort and joy.
She leaves behind her husband; Jason, mother; Sharon (Doug) Hager, father; Steve (Eva) Hobson, five siblings; Rena (Paul) Malkowski, Sherry (David) Hayes, Gary (Cindy) Hager, Marci (George) Poulakis and Danny Hager, maternal grandparents; Clarence (Rachel) Hager and paternal grandparents; Art (Geneva) Hobson.
Stephanie now joins her maternal grandparents; Maria (Bob) Chase.
Stephanie had the truest of hearts and loved everyone unconditionally. Her tenderness, sweet spirit and beautiful smile will be missed by all.
