Date of Death

January 29, 2024

Julie Wahl, age 64, of Elburn, passed away into the arms of her Savior, Monday, January 29, 2024, supported by the love and prayers of her family.

She was born August 7, 1959, in Mauston, WI, to loving parents, Fritz and Lucy Kanarowski.

Julie grew up on the family farm near Mauston, near Castle Rock Lake, and attended local schools. She graduated from Mauston High School. Along with her diploma, she took with her many friendships and memories of shenanigans that made her education a little more bearable.

Julie met the love her life through a friend from work. Clyde Wahl not only took home a paycheck, but eventually her heart. They were wed on September 12, 1981, in Mauston. They began their new life down south to Illinois and settled on a farm in St. Charles. Of course, the love of horses also came with them, and they added two Quarter Horses to their stable. Four years later, now with two sons in tow, they moved to Elburn where they continued to make acres of memories to treasure.

Julie worked at White Eagle Restaurant in Lyndon Station for many years, and later she worked at Springview Restaurant where her whip smart memory made sure every person left with a smile, but not before leaving room for dessert.

As a young girl, Julie loved to go horseback riding, especially on Lucky, a Quarter Horse and Night Flight, a Thoroughbred. She loved meandering across the countryside in later years, taking in the sights and sounds of nature, but the lights and sounds of a slot machine also made her heart skip a beat. Julie never met a stranger and found easy friendships in all walks of life. No one will be able to replace her, or her contagious smile. Julie is one that will truly be remembered for generations.

She now leaves her loving husband of 41 years, Clyde Wahl; two sons: Charlie Wahl and Chad Wahl; one sister, Sue Kanarowski; a sister-in-law, Dawn Kanarowski, and giant social circle that will miss her dearly.

She is now reunited with her parents, Fritz and Lucy Kanarowski; three brothers: Wally, Jeff and Squeak Kanaraowski.
