Lisa Toedter passed away peacefully with her grandchildren by her side on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in Naperville, IL at the age of ninety-six.  Lisa was born on Sunday, November 20,1927 to Peter and Martha Meyer in Stelle, Germany.  She grew up with her brother Ernst and sisters Magda and Margaret in Achterdeich, Germany where she graduated from High School.

On November 29, 1951 she immigrated with her sister Magda Meyer (Fedjur) to the United States on the ship HOMELAND from Hamburg Germany arriving to the United States on December 12, 1951.  Lisa started a new life living on a poultry farm with her Aunt and Uncle in Bensenville, IL.  On May 7, 1953 Ewald Toedter immigrated from Germany to Bensenville, IL to be with Lisa and they were married on May 20, 1953.  After four years together they bought a home in Franklin Park, IL where they raised their two sons Ralph and David.  Lisa worked in the kitchen at Motorola in Franklin Park, IL for many years until her retirement.

In 1988, Lisa and Ewald retired and moved to Florida where they spent their time gardening, swimming, and enjoying each other’s company.  In June 2000, they moved to Midway, Arkansas to be closer to Lisa’s sisters.  In 2014, Lisa moved back to Illinois to be closer to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Lisa and Ewald were members of DANK, German Club, and the German Club in Mountain Home, Arkansas.  Their entire lived were dedicated to their family.

Lisa is survived by her Son, Ralph (Jane) of Elburn, her six Grandchildren; Kevin (Nikki), Kimberly (Rodney), Keith, Kristina (Aaron), Stacy (James), and Nicholas, her six Great Grandchildren; Alex, Ryan, Addyson, Hayden, Preston, and Drew, her two Sisters; Magda Fedjur of Mountain Home, AR and Margaret (Ernie) Peterson of Mountain Home, AR, her Sister-in-Law; Margot Meyer of Germany, and many Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ewald (2009), and son David (2015).

A visitation will be held at Conley Funeral Home in Elburn, IL from 9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.  A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00a.m. immediately following visitation.  Following the service, interment will take place at 1:00p.m. at Mount Emblem Cemetery, 520 E. Grand Avenue, Elmhurst, IL.
