Anthony “Tony” Stover, age 41, of Sugar Grove, passed away suddenly, Saturday, April 6, 2024, leaving behind a community of friends with a hole in their hearts to match his stature. Never to be forgotten, his memories are a balm for the grieving souls of his family and friends.

Tony grew up in Elburn and West Chicago while attending local schools. He graduated from West Chicago High School with the class of 2001. In between classes and after school you could find him hanging with his best friends Erick and Stephen, and working at Sonny Acres farm.

He went on to attend Robert Morris College in Naperville, where he graduated with a degree in accounting. Tony also had a passion for the culinary arts and was excited to be pursuing a degree where numbers took a back seat, and a main entrée took center stage instead.

Tony worked so many jobs over the years it would be easier to list what he didn’t do. But regardless of where he worked, he found friends at every stop. His last job put him in the middle of all the action as a blackjack dealer at Hollywood Casino.

Tony loved to make the most delicious smells in the kitchen, shaping his own versions from favorite recipes. The soundtrack to his life echoed of his favorite band, the Goo Goo Dolls but even with the volume up, you could hear him cheer the loudest for the University of South Carolina Game Cocks football. Cheering wouldn’t be enough fulfill his football fanaticism, so Tony also participated in the Simulation Football League with the Atlanta Swarm.

He leaves a brokenhearted family including his mother, Denise (John “Jack”) Feltes, his father Rick Stover; three sisters: Anna Feltes, Sarah Feltes, and Emma Feltes; his paternal grandmother, Joanne Stover; maternal grandmother, Pamela Kuzlik; many aunts, uncles, cousins and host of friends.

He is reunited with his paternal grandfather, Duane Stover; maternal grandfather, Phil Kuzlik, a maternal grandmother, JoAnn Kuzlik who preceded him in death.
