Date of Death

March 29, 2024

Betty Kusk of Hampshire, IL passed away peacefully from Alzheimer’s on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Bickford of St Charles, surrounded by her loving family.  Betty was born on October 16, 1958 in Sycamore, IL to proud parents, Troy and Marlene Fulbright (nee Herrmann).

Betty grew up in Burlington, IL and attended local schools eventually graduating from Burlington Central High School. Growing up Betty had three brothers and one sister. Betty met and eventually married the love of her life, Ron Kusk in a beautiful ceremony on November 2, 1985 in Hampshire, IL at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Being a stay at home mom while raising her children Betty did work outside the home, as a fitness instructor, in childcare, and a bookkeeper for their family business,  Kusk Construction Inc.  The role that Betty enjoyed most and was most proud of was being “Nana”.  She was always available to watch her grandchildren when needed.  Betty was an animal lover and adored her fur babies, especially her dog Sadie. They were two peas in a pod and wherever Betty was, you could guarantee that Sadie was not far behind.

In her free time, Betty enjoyed doing cross stitch and sewing.  She loved a good book, especially romance novels by Danielle Steel.  She enjoyed the outdoors whether she was planting flowers in her garden or sunbathing, soaking up the sun. She threw the best Halloween Parties and looked forward to hosting it every year. She loved to dance and laugh, her positive nature was contagious. May her spirit live on through those she loved most, her family.  When you start to miss Betty, take her lead, and turn on some music, and maybe grab a partner, and dance like no one’s looking, dance like there’s no tomorrow, because all that is guaranteed is today.  We thank God for letting us have Betty for the time that we did, although we wish we could have had her just a while longer, we are grateful for the amazing woman, mother, grandmother, and friend we had in Betty , a truly one-of-a-kind Angel on Earth.

She will be missed dearly by her mother, Marlene Fulbright, her three Children; Nicole (Travis) Schultz, Brianna (Danny) Imse, Ryan (Natalie) Kusk, and her eight Grandchildren; Madalyn, Tyler, and Macey Schultz, Braedyn, Bentley, and Payton Imse, and Kennedy and Blake Kusk.

She is reunited in Heaven with her father, Ray Fulbright, her brother, Troy Fulbright, and her one true love, Ron Kusk.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Conley Funeral Home in Elburn, IL. A private interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be used to enrich the outside garden area at Bickford Memory Care.  She enjoyed spending time outside and appreciated the great care and compassion she received from their staff.

  3. Nicole & Travis, Brianna & Danny, Ryan & Natalie, and family, I know you know how much I loved your Mom & your Dad and it’s still unbelievable for me to realize they are gone but with faith & God I trust they are again united. Your Mom told me countless times she wanted to be with your Dad & missed him so much, even as she acknowledged the disease that was stealing her mind away. I will treasure our times & memories made and I will miss her always. Sending love & prayers, Michelle
