BONNIE KRAUSE

Date of Birth

April 2, 1940

Date of Death

October 15, 2023

Bonnie Krause, age 83, of Maple Park, is now reunited with her husband in the halls of Heaven, Sunday, October 15, 2023 and is free of the battles with cancer that may have broken her body but never her spirit. She was born in Centralia, IL. When her father died at a young age, many of the children were transferred into the care of Mooseheart Child City in Batavia, IL. After she graduated from high school, Bonnie took her education and became a beautician for a time. In 1964 she met the love of her life, Donnie Krause. On April 24, 1965, they were united in marriage and would spend the next 47 years by each other’s side. They began their new life together in Elgin before making a home in Elburn, filling each room with the kind of memories that still sing as sweet as the day they were made. After Donnie’s passing, Bonnie made the decision to make a new start in Maple Park.  As the children grew, Donnie and Bonnie loved to have fun and meet friends wherever they gathered. It was through those gatherings that she found herself in back of the bar manning the kitchen like it was her own. You could find her at establishments like D.J.’s, Cotti’s, and Elburn Inn among others in both Elburn and Maple Park.  Bonnie and Donnie loved to travel and gamble and when they could do both, it was the picture-perfect vacation. Bonnie loved the slots and took in the glamour and glitz of Vegas with pep in her step, making memories with every jackpot. She was always willing to lend a hand and cook for friends in need or for a special occasion. Her spirit was unique and could never duplicated. Bonnie let you know where you stood, good or bad, without compunction. She may not have liked you for a while, but that never tarnished the love she had for so many including Clyde and Julie Wahl and April and Ron Ritchie. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and she enjoyed every minute she could spend with them. No one who knew Bonnie could ever forget her. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Lisa (Shawn) Simmons; 3 grandsons Matt, Steve, Scott Simmons; two brothers John (Diane) Vogt and Ray (Mary) Vogt; and a family of friends in a host of communities.  She reunites with her parents, Raymond and Bernice Vogt, her loving husband Donnie, one son, Donald; 7 siblings: Raymond, John, Tucker, Doris, Jack, Jerry, and Mary.   Visitation will be from 10-12 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2023, at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn. The visitation will be closed with a prayer before a burial procession to Blackberry Twp. Cemetery, in Elburn. Memories and tributes may be left on the Conley Funeral Home Facebook Page, or at www.conleycare.com.

  1. To Bonnies’s Family and Friends, may care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. My most sincere condolences.

I am confident that Bonnie is enjoying storytelling with “Mooseheart Red Ramblers”, Friends and Family Members that have preceded her.
