Laura Ann (Long) Rudow, aka “Metchy”, age 52 of Elburn, IL, formerly of Kaneville, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 4, 2024. Laura was born November 8, 1971, to Dennis and Susan (Watne) Long. 

Laura attended Kaneland schools and graduated with the class of 1990. She participated in both softball and volleyball. Laura was employed at Truxes company in Oswego, IL for almost thirty years. She was also a member of Kaneville United Methodist Church. Laura loved spending time with her family, friends, and her cats. She especially loved every moment she spent with her beloved nieces. She also loved fishing when she was younger, grilling and baking. 

Laura is survived by her sisters, Sarah Dunlop of Elburn, IL, and Debby Long of Elburn, IL, her nieces, Allison Dunlop of Coralville, IA and Alyssa Ekstrom of Elburn, IL, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Laura was preceded in death by her parents Dennis and Susan Long, 

grandparents Ervin and Marjorie Long and Ludwig and Wilma Watne, her brother-in-law James (Jim) Dunlop III, uncles Richard Long and Richard Watne, and her cousin Beth Long. 

Family and friends may visit Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, from 4-8 pm on Friday, March 8, 2024. Private family burial will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Laura’s name. Checks may be made to the “Laura A. Rudow Memorial” and mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, 60119.   1. I know how much Laura loved all of you. You have an awesome family !
    She always kept me laughing. She was a great employee and I was proud she called me friend. For me she was like A sister. It’s hard to believe she won’t be calling. I’ll miss her. I love you Laura! Plain and simple she was always there for me and vice versa . my condolences to her wonderful family . I know if she can she’ll haunt you. Rest in Peace Laura !!

  2. Laura very nice lady I would always see her on Fridays when I visited Truxes. Always asked about my son and how he was doing. I had just spoke her last Friday. I was stunned to hear the news of here unexpected passing. My heartfelt condolences to your family.
